Numbers 7:68 NLT
“He brought a young bull, a ram, and a one-year-old male lamb for a burnt offering,”
A clear sense of purpose
In the referenced scripture, we read that Moses correctly identified the specific offerings brought by Ahiezer: a young bull, a ram, and a one-year-old male lamb, all designated for a burnt sacrifice. This detailed knowledge must have come from Ahiezer’s willingness to talk with Moses, during which Ahiezer likely explained the purpose of each animal and how they would be used in the sacrificial ritual. Another important lesson is that Ahiezer was not ashamed to openly associate himself with the offerings he brought for the burnt offering. This behaviour shows confidence and a clear sense of purpose, which would not have been there if Ahiezer had brought animals that were unacceptable or of lower quality, no matter how many. Not only did Ahiezer bring more than the minimum required, but he also ensured that the animals he offered were of the highest purity and health, reflecting his devotion and respect in his offerings to God. Friends, let’s give God our very best and avoid offering Him anything less.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to be intentional in every action I take, whether small or large, and guide my choices so that each one reflects Your love and purpose. May my actions consistently bring You glory and honour, demonstrating my dedication to serving You faithfully. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
