Numbers 7:67 NLT
“His offering consisted of a silver platter weighing 3-1/4 pounds and a silver basin weighing 1-3/4 pounds (as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel). These were both filled with grain offerings of choice flour moistened with olive oil.”
God’s grace is sufficient
Everything about the silver platter and basin is significant. None of the tribal leaders, including Ahiezer, whose turn occurred on the tenth day, downgraded the kind of precious metal used in crafting these vessels. Like other tribal leaders who had presented their offerings, Ahiezer brought a silver platter and basin that matched the specified weight requirements. Regarding the weight, both items were quite heavy, yet that did not deter Ahiezer from offering them. Furthermore, the weightiness of the silver vessels did not prevent Moses from carefully verifying their actual weights against the official standards. Ahiezer did not use the heaviness as an excuse to avoid presenting the silver platter and basin, nor did Moses overlook the importance of validating their weights despite their substantial mass. Friends, never become weary of pleasing God, even if the task seems overwhelming; His grace is always sufficient.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that I will not grow weary of doing Your will, and may I always remain aware that Your grace is enough for me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
