WELFARE UNIT

The Welfare Ministry is a vital arm of the church which reflects the heart of God through love, care, and support for His people. It is more than a department—it is a demonstration of Christ’s compassion in action.
The Welfare Ministry exists to meet the physical and emotional needs of the church members and the wider community. Just as the early church in the Acts of the Apostles ensured that no one lacked anything, the Welfare Ministry continues this legacy by providing assistance to those in need through food support, clothing, visitation, counseling, and encouragement.
The Ministry serves as the hands and feet of Christ, addressing the physical, emotional, and practical needs of individuals. Its work flows from biblical commands to love, care, and serve others—especially the vulnerable.

Key Functions of the Welfare Ministry
1. Care and Support.
The primary role is to provide care and support to church members by identifying and assisting individuals and families facing challenges, both temporary and ongoing.
2. Visitation.
The ministry reaches out through visitation to the sick, bereaved, and absent members, offering love, prayer, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.
3. Spiritual and Emotional Restoration.
We provide emotional encouragement and prayer support and work closely with pastors and church leaders to ensure holistic care—spiritual, emotional, and physical.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to demonstrate the love of Christ by compassionately supporting individuals and families in need. We seek to serve with humility, uphold integrity, pursue excellence, and ensure that help is accessible to all, restoring dignity, hope, and spiritual well‑being within our community.

Core Values (Aligned with Church Values – HEPA)

Humility
We serve with the heart of Christ, recognizing that all we have is by God’s grace. We approach every individual with respect, compassion, and willingness to listen.
Excellence
We are committed to high standards of stewardship, organization, and service delivery. We strive to serve efficiently, responsibly, and faithfully, honoring God through excellence in every act of care.
Purity
We uphold integrity, transparency, and godly character in all ministry activities. Our actions, decisions, and relationships are guided by biblical principles, ensuring accountability and trustworthiness.
Accessibility
We believe help should be open and reachable to all who are in need. We work to remove barriers—physical, emotional, or cultural—so that support is delivered in a welcoming, inclusive, and compassionate manner.

Conclusion

The Welfare Ministry plays a vital biblical role in fulfilling the church’s mission of love, service, and compassion. Rooted in Scripture, it ensures that the church not only preaches the gospel but also lives it out through action, reflecting the heart of Christ to a hurting world.
