Numbers 7:64

Strong Tower: A Daily Scripture Reflection

Numbers 7:64 NLT
“and a male goat for a sin offering.”

Openly express
The scripture mentioned above describes the ninth occasion in which Moses received a male goat from a tribal leader as a sin offering. Despite the profound connection between the tribal leaders’ names—many of which carry significant meanings linked to their faith—and God, none of these leaders hesitated to openly express their desire to align themselves with the I AM WHO I AM. Each leader acknowledged their own sinfulness—Abidan, for instance, whose name means “my father is judge,” included—and earnestly sought to uphold their good standing with God by following the divine instructions given through Moses. Friends, Jesus is the mediator of the New Testament and, consequently, the only way to be reconciled to God. If tribal leaders obeyed Moses’s laws to attain righteousness with God, then we, who are called by Jesus’s name, have no excuse not to follow Jesus’s teachings to seek forgiveness from the I AM WHO I AM.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, may I never hesitate to profess my unwavering love for You openly, whether in prayer, worship, or daily life, and may I always seek to make amends for any ways I have fallen short or behaved in ways that are not pleasing to You. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
