Strong Tower: A Daily Scripture Reflection

Numbers 7:50 NLT
“He also brought a gold container weighing four ounces, which was filled with incense.”
A gold container
Distraction can stem from various sources, especially when one forgets the true purpose of any endeavour. In the referenced scripture, it is evident that Moses was not sidetracked by the container’s quality. Although he recognized it was made of pure gold, he emphasized what was inside it, highlighting the significance of content over material. Elishama deserves credit not only for bringing a gold container but also for filling it with incense intended for divine worship. It is important to note that the incense was designed for God, not the priest, which explains the use of gold—a metal of the highest purity and value known to Elishama—for its presentation. Friends, your container, symbolizing your life, must not be empty; therefore, fill it with the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—which consistently produce a fragrant offering that pleases God more than any earthly incense.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to steadfastly resist any form of distraction or temptation that might divert my attention from you. Strengthen my resolve to intentionally fill my life with the enduring fruit of the Spirit—such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—so that my actions consistently reflect your presence within me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
