Strong Tower: A Daily Scripture Reflection

Numbers 7:51 NLT
“He brought a young bull, a ram, and a one-year-old male lamb for a burnt offering,”
He brought
As I meditated on the referenced scripture, I gained several insights. First, the writing style indicates that the action of the offeror was reported by someone else, which in this case was Moses, and second, Moses wrote about the event after it had occurred, and this we know because of the use of the word “brought.” It is worth noting that Moses’s recollection was sharp because he didn’t forget or fail to capture everything Elishama brought. Another message is that what we do today will become history tomorrow, just as Elishama’s action did. Although we were not there to witness what he brought as an offering for a burnt and sin offering, today and until Jesus returns, we continue to read about it. Friends, be mindful of what you are doing today and endeavour that they would be worth emulating by future generations when your actions become public.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I understand that the actions I take today will be part of history tomorrow. Please help me to be intentional in my choices, paying close attention to the purpose behind each one, and, more importantly, guide my actions so that they clearly reflect and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
