Numbers 8:2 NLT
“Give Aaron the following instructions: When you set up the seven lamps in the lampstand, place them so their light shines forward in front of the lampstand.”
Shine forward
A popular worship song goes thus, “This kind God, I have never seen Your kind.” Truly, Yahweh is unmatched in all aspects. He never prepares anyone for failure; instead, the I AM WHO I AM enables success. In the referenced scripture, we learn that God gave Moses detailed instructions on how Aaron was to set up the seven lamps within the golden lampstand. These instructions specified that Aaron should arrange the lamps so that their light would shine forward, illuminating the space in front of the lampstand. This suggests that Aaron was instructed to position the lamps to project light forward, and it can be inferred that he knew how to arrange them accordingly; otherwise, God would not have instructed him. Friends, just as Aaron could make the lamps shine forward, so do you. Therefore, we must intentionally let our light shine among people—in other words, shine forward—to fulfil our purpose and reflect His glory.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, in all my responsibilities—especially in allowing my light to shine brightly—my prayer to You is that I will always let it shine boldly and continuously forward. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
