Numbers 8:3 NLT
“So Aaron did this. He set up the seven lamps so they reflected their light forward, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.”
So Aaron did this.
It is one thing to have divine instruction; it is another thing to comply with or adhere to it. In Numbers 8:2, we read that God instructed Moses to give Aaron specific instructions on arranging the seven lamps so that they shine forward. Even though there is no verse 2.5 reporting that Moses relayed the message, we can tell he did, because Aaron wouldn’t have known how to carry out the assignment if Moses had withheld any vital information. It is worth noting that Aaron carried out the instruction himself, meaning he didn’t delegate it to his sons, even though they were all ordained priests. Friends, when God gives you an instruction to carry out a task, He knows you can do it. But know this: whether you carry out the task or don’t, either way your action becomes history that people can either emulate or steer clear of. Without a shadow of a doubt, Aaron’s action is worth emulating. Friends, are you attending to God’s instruction such that someday it would propel others to do better in their walk with the Lord?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, in every responsibility, particularly in making my light shine forward, may I never fail to let it shine always and forward. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
