Numbers 7:83 NLT
“For a peace offering he brought two bulls, five rams, five male goats, and five one-year-old male lambs. This was the offering brought by Ahira son of Enan.”

Everyone yearns for peace
One of the fundamental desires shared universally is the longing for lasting peace. Under the Old Covenant, individuals were permitted to offer specific sacrifices, such as animal offerings, to seek divine peace. However, their effectiveness was limited to providing short-term relief from guilt and separation. If these sacrifices truly had the power to establish enduring peace, there would have been no need for repeated offerings. The fleeting nature of their benefits clearly indicates they could not establish permanent reconciliation with God. In contrast, through Jesus Christ, believers are offered eternal reconciliation with God (Colossians 1:20–22). Additionally, it is important to note that Ahira, son of Enan, could not rely on peace offerings made by other tribal leaders; he had to present his own sacrifices to obtain peace with God. Friends, Jesus has made peace with God accessible and free of charge, but it is your responsibility to desire it and to maintain it once you have received it.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, please grant me Your peaceful presence to soothe my mind and heart. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
