Numbers 7:84 NLT
“So this was the dedication offering brought by the leaders of Israel at the time the altar was anointed: twelve silver platters, twelve silver basins, and twelve gold incense containers.”

All accepted and honoured without issue
When the Tabernacle was to be built, God instructed Moses to ask the people of Israel for materials. The second instruction was that Moses should accept offerings from anyone who wished to give. True to this instruction, the people responded generously. However, for the dedication of the Altar of burnt offering, God did not specify any special offering. Yet, the tribal leaders thought it wise to present offerings as a sign of devotion. The main lesson here is that God has given us the ability to discern and do what is right; however, it is our duty to act on that knowledge. Another lesson from this passage involves the total number of silver basins, platters, and gold incense containers. There were twelve of each, meaning that contributions from all tribal leaders were included. And this was because each brought items of similar quality and quantity, so that when they were combined, Moses could not tell which item belonged to which tribal leader. Friends, these tribal leaders didn’t compete or seek personal glory; instead, they collaborated and complemented each other’s contributions. Let’s emulate their example by supporting and enriching fellow believers in all our efforts, so that when the time for accountability arrives, our individual contributions will be accepted and honoured without issue.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that I will not be negligent in my free will offering, but rather present it with sincerity and reflection, ensuring it aligns fully with Your specific instructions and standards, so that it is not excluded when weighed against Your criteria. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
