Numbers 7:2 NLT
“Then the leaders of Israel—the tribal leaders who had registered the troops—came and brought their offerings.”
Then the leaders of Israel
Today’s referenced scripture offers us several messages for daily living. First, it reminds us that the tribal leaders’ actions came only after Moses had faithfully done what the Lord expected of him. Friends, when we follow God’s will, it often has far-reaching effects that we may not immediately see. Are you doing God’s will?
Second, the tribal leaders brought their offerings, and we can imagine the ripple effect this might have created. It’s reminiscent of when the disciples laid their coats on the donkey for Jesus to ride, and the people in the procession responded by spreading their coats and cutting leafy branches to honour Him.
Third, the number of the leaders are not too much to catalogue for Moses because they were 12 in number. Yet, their names were not mentioned, which might suggest they chose to stay humble and anonymous. Friends, let’s stay humble in both our words and our deeds. Fourth, it’s touching to see that all the tribal leaders agreed to bring offerings, with no one dissenting. Friends, when we see something good being done to honour God’s name, let us support it wholeheartedly and never allow doubt or negativity to cloud our spirits.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to surround myself with compassionate and honest people whose consistent goal is to honour You through their words and actions, guiding me to live in a way that reflects Your divine will. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
