Numbers 7:3 NLT
“Together they brought six large wagons and twelve oxen. There was a wagon for every two leaders and an ox for each leader. They presented these to the Lord in front of the Tabernacle.”
Together they brought
In any endeavour involving a group, it is common for delegates to be selected or appointed to represent the group and deliver a good or service on their behalf. However, it is notable that the tribal leaders did not designate any delegate; instead, all of them voluntarily made themselves available to honour God through their presence and offerings. Friends, how often do you make yourself available to honour God in situations that require your physical or spiritual presence and commitment?
Another insightful point from the scripture is that neither the wagons nor the oxen could be distinguished by size or relative importance. All wagons were considered equal in size and type, showing that nothing was regarded as smaller or larger—each served its purpose without hierarchy. Finally, the scripture highlights that the tribal leaders presented their gifts at the entrance of the Tabernacle. Despite bringing substantial offerings, their humility was evident; they did not view their gifts as too grand or too insignificant to present publicly, nor did they attempt to assume a privileged position at the front of the Tabernacle, showing sincere reverence and humility.
