“Then assemble the whole community of Israel, and present the Levites at the entrance of the Tabernacle.”
Assemble and present
No divine assignment can be performed halfheartedly. Instead, each must be approached wholeheartedly and with vigour. In his letter to the church at Colossae, Paul emphasizes in Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Although the two tasks given to Moses in the referenced scripture may seem straightforward, they still demand full awareness and deliberate action.
Assembling people for a specific purpose is challenging, yet God recognized Moses as capable of leading the effort effectively. Friends, God isn’t seeking individuals who scatter or create chaos; rather, He desires those who will assemble and organize people for His glory and divine purpose. Additionally, the presentation of the Levites must take place strictly at the entrance of the Tabernacle, which is profoundly instructive.
Remember that Levites are not permitted to enter the Tabernacle on their own initiative, and bringing them in without proper order would have violated previous instructions concerning their role and service outlined in Numbers 3:5-8:26. Friends, God is never the author of confusion; instead, He is the one who maintains divine order and structure.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to gather people together in Your name for Your glory and honour, ensuring that my actions promote unity and clarity rather than chaos and confusion. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
