Strong Tower: A Daily Scripture Reflection

Numbers 8:19 NLT
“And of all the Israelites, I have assigned the Levites to Aaron and his sons. They will serve in the Tabernacle on behalf of the Israelites and make sacrifices to purify the people so no plague will strike them when they approach the sanctuary.”
Know your purpose
In the referenced scripture, God clearly explained that the selection of the Levites to serve in the Tabernacle was not for personal glory or self-importance. Instead, the Levites were specifically chosen to serve as intermediaries, standing in the gap for the people of Israel by assisting with the sacred duties and maintaining the holiness of the sanctuary. Friends, has God called you to intercede on behalf of others? Approach this calling with joy and humility, and do not concern yourself with who will pray for you in return. Additionally, it is crucial to understand that without the Levites performing the sacrifices and rituals that God commanded—such as offering burnt offerings, sin offerings, and continuous purifications—the entire community of Israel would be vulnerable to divine judgment, including the threat of a plague, whenever they approached the sanctuary. Friends, strive to purify and uplift others through your words and sincere utterances, ensuring that their experience in God’s presence is meaningful, reverent, and transformative.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I ask for Your help to stay focused on the purpose You’ve assigned me. Keep me from becoming self-centred and instead enable me to approach my divine duties with joy, trusting that You have my back as I continue to work in Your vineyard. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
