Numbers 7:88 NLT
“Twenty-four bulls, sixty rams, sixty male goats, and sixty one-year-old male lambs were donated for the peace offerings. This was the dedication offering for the altar after it was anointed.”
God’s providence
In the referenced scripture, Moses listed the total number of bulls, rams, goats, and one-year-old male lambs to be offered as sacrifices. The figures recorded precisely matched those provided by the 12 tribal leaders. What lessons can we take away from this account? First, none of the animals intended for sacrifice died prematurely; instead, all were preserved by God’s divine care. Friends, remember that whatever you dedicate to God’s service is protected and covered by His providence. Second, Moses demonstrated integrity by clearly stating that none of the animals or supplies were for his personal benefit but were donated solely as peace offerings to foster reconciliation with God. Friends, Moses wanted these leaders’ desire to come to fruition; otherwise, he would have diverted their offerings to something unrewarding for them. But he didn’t. If Moses could be content, nothing stops you and me from doing the same; it starts with not taking for ourselves what God has not given us.

Heavenly Father, I pray that Your covenant of life, grace, and divine protection may be upon all that You have entrusted to me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
