“Each silver platter weighed 3-1/4 pounds, and each silver basin weighed 1-3/4 pounds. The total weight of the silver was 60 pounds (as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel).”
Craftsmanship of impeccable quality
In his detailed assessment, Moses found no discrepancies or gaps in the weights of the silver basin and silver platter presented as part of the dedication offering for the altar of burnt offering. While it is commendable to praise all the tribal leaders for bringing these items of exact weight and high quality in honour of God’s name, we must also recognize the artisans who ensure these standards are met. Likely the work of Bezalel and Oholiab, these craftsmen tirelessly fashioned the silver basin and platter specifically for God’s glory. Although their names were neither inscribed nor publicly acknowledged as artisans, their craftsmanship was of impeccable quality. Friends, are you supporting others in their Christian journey, or are you hindering them? Do you give your best effort regardless of recognition and praise?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that I will not be negligent in my endeavours but remain diligent in my efforts to serve You, and that I may actively aid others in their walk with You, offering guidance and support along their spiritual journey. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
