Numbers 7:74 NLT
“He also brought a gold container weighing four ounces, which was filled with incense.”

Bring to God the finest
When given the freedom to make decisions about others, there is always a tendency to consider the least satisfying outcome for them. You might argue otherwise, but remember the disciples did not think Jesus deserved the expensive oil in the alabaster box. However, their views didn’t change what the woman who brought it had intended. Although there is nothing in the referenced scripture indicating that anyone prompted Pagiel to bring the best, we can infer from the quality of the container he brought that he wouldn’t offer God anything less. The word “also” indicates that Pagiel brought this in addition to other items. On inspection, Moses found “a gold container weighing four ounces, which was filled with incense.” Pagiel could have said, “God has had 10 gold containers, and adding a silver container wouldn’t be a bad idea,” but he didn’t, because he brought the item that glorified God. Friends, don’t entertain any thought advising that God deserves less by offering half-hearted gifts, but always honour Him by presenting Him with the best.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that I will not disappoint You with my offering. Instead, I will always honour You with the very best of my talents, resources, and devotion that You truly deserve. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
