Numbers 7:71 NLT
“For a peace offering he brought two bulls, five rams, five male goats, and five one-year-old male lambs. This was the offering brought by Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.”
For a peace offering
Everyone longs for peace, and as the referenced scripture illustrates, Ahiezer, like other tribal leaders who had presented their dedication offerings, showed that being a tribal leader in Israel does not mean one lacks desire for peace. In his bid for it, Ahiezer brought more animals than necessary for a peace offering, and Moses had no issue attributing them for that purpose, stating: “For a peace offering he brought two bulls, five rams, five male goats, and five one-year-old male lambs.” Clearly, Ahiezer went above and beyond to seek peace with God. Friends, Jesus also went the extra mile to secure divine peace for us. While the peace that Ahiezer desired was only for him and not transferable, Jesus’s peace secured divine peace for you and me through His blood. Through Jesus, we find not just peace with God but also a comforting peace in Him. What a wonderful friend we have in Jesus!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please grant me Your peace that surpasses all understanding, so that I may remain calm and steadfast through life’s challenges, trusting that everything will be well in every aspect of my life. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
