Numbers 7:5 NLT
“Receive their gifts, and use these oxen and wagons for transporting the Tabernacle. Distribute them among the Levites according to the work they have to do.”
Not a personal choice
This passage highlights that Moses’s decision to accept the oxen and wagons presented by the tribal leaders of Israel at the entrance to the Tabernacle was not a personal choice but one directed by God. The I AM WHO I AM personally instructed him on how to use these offerings, emphasizing divine guidance. Friends, let us learn from Moses’s example: he did not rush into action upon hearing the instruction to receive the gifts but waited patiently to learn the full details on how to utilize them effectively.
Reflecting on the actions of the tribal leaders, it is evident they were diligent and observant; they clearly had internalized every instruction Moses conveyed from God regarding the construction and use of the Tabernacle. Their careful attention suggests they also contemplated how to lighten the burden for those chosen by God to carry out various responsibilities. Dear friends, are we truly aware of the incredible opportunity we have to make a difference in our fellowship or church? Are we actively participating in activities that help lighten the load for those appointed by God to lead different initiatives, just like the tribal leaders of Israel did? Let’s embrace our role and ignite enthusiasm for supporting our leaders!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, guide my heart to refrain from acting impulsively and to wait patiently for Your direction. Help me to stay attentive and discerning so I can meaningfully support those You have appointed to carry out duties in Your vineyard. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
