Numbers 7:48 NLT
“On the seventh day Elishama son of Ammihud, leader of the tribe of Ephraim, presented his offering.”
On the seventh day
According to divine instruction, the seventh day is designated as the Sabbath, a special day set aside for rest and worship. However, the fact that a day is the Sabbath does not mean that doing God’s will should be suspended on that day. It is important to understand that serving God is not confined to any specific day. For example, Elishama, son of Ammihud and leader of the tribe of Ephraim, presented his offering on the seventh day, which was technically a Sabbath, because doing God’s will is for any day. Interestingly, Moses did not emphasize or hype the significance of the day when Elishama offered his sacrifice; instead, he treated it like any other day, recognizing there was no need to make a special fuss. Imposing extra significance on the seventh day could make miscontrue Elishama’s offering as having special relevance in the eyes of God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly ask that, through the guidance and strength of the Holy Spirit, I may consistently act in ways that are truly pleasing and pleasing to You, aligning my thoughts, words, and actions with Your divine purpose. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
