“On the fifth day Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai, leader of the tribe of Simeon, presented his offering.”
Being a leader
There was something notable about Shelumiel, son of Zurishaddai. Moses mentioned in the referenced scripture that he was the leader of the tribe of Simeon. Friends, being appointed as a leader is one thing, but consistently demonstrating the qualities and responsibilities of the position is another, and always requires integrity and dedication. The fact that Shelumiel, son of Zurishaddai, did not rush to present his offering to Moses but instead waited patiently until it was his turn showed humility and discipline. This behaviour not only dignified him personally but also brought honour to everyone in the tribe of Simeon. Friends, you are a leader in one form or another. The question is: are you representing your ‘tribe’, i.e., your family, business, or fellowship well through your actions, or are you engaging in endeavours that diminish the honour and integrity of your ‘tribe’?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I ask for Your help to be a leader not just in title but through my actions, so that my deeds honour the tribe I serve and, more importantly, honour You always. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
