Numbers 7:31 NLT
“His offering consisted of a silver platter weighing 3-1/4 pounds and a silver basin weighing 1-3/4 pounds (as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel). These were both filled with grain offerings of choice flour moistened with olive oil.”
No embellishment or exaggeration
A key principle that every follower of Christ should remember is that God will individually evaluate each person’s actions and omissions, considering the intentions and circumstances behind them. It’s worth noting that Moses, who observed Elizur’s offering, chose not to compare it with the offerings presented earlier by others. Instead, he described that “his [Elizur’s] offering consisted of…” specific items. Like any faithful and diligent servant of the Lord, Moses maintained integrity in his assessment: he didn’t overstate or understate what he saw. He stuck to the facts, faithfully conveying them without any embellishments, demonstrating honesty and impartiality. Moses was a sincere and upright servant who avoided playing any unfair or biased cards, either for or against Elizur, ensuring his judgment remained fair and pure.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to carry out my duty in Your presence faithfully. May nothing stop me from presenting whatever is presented without fear or favour. Please deliver me from exaggeration and embellishment. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
