Diligent application
Under the law, the Lord provided specific instructions regarding the objects to be presented for each offering, including the exact types of animals to be used. The instructions also detailed the procedural steps priests should follow to perform the sacrifices correctly, ensuring obedience and reverence during the ceremonies.
It is worth noting that Moses communicated these instructions openly to the entire congregation—men, women, and children—ensuring there was no room for ambiguity or misunderstanding about the procedures or the significance of each offering. The fact that Nahshon brought a male goat exclusively designated for the sin offering, rather than a female goat or another type of animal, indicates that he attentively listened to and understood the Lord’s instructions conveyed through Moses, demonstrating careful obedience.
Friends, are you truly attentive to the Lord’s instructions? Another message is that Nahshon’s action was commendable because it would, without a shadow of a doubt, enable the priest to perform their duties effectively and with reverence. Friends, are your actions aiding others in their service in the vineyard or constraining them?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me not only hear Your word but truly internalize it so that I may diligently apply it in my daily life, remaining committed to living according to Your teachings throughout all my days. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
