“He brought a young bull, a ram, and a one-year-old male lamb for a burnt offering,”
An act of sincere devotion and love
Doing the right thing may not come cheaply, but it brings peace of mind and spiritual fulfillment that are truly priceless. In the referenced scripture, we see Nahshon offering a young bull, a ram, and a one-year-old lamb—animals that were all acceptable to God according to His commandments. However, none of these came without cost. Despite this, Nahshon didn’t burden the tribe of Judah with these gifts, suggesting he was likely well-off and willing to give generously from a sincere heart.
Friend, God is constantly working to transform lives—from zero to hero—through faith. So, when He transforms your life, are you prepared to give Him your very best? This might be your time, talents, or resources. Another meaningful lesson is that Nahshon offered these animals with a purpose—to symbolize complete surrender and devotion through the burnt offering. It wasn’t about transactions; it was about genuine commitment. In the same way, let’s avoid approaching our giving as merely transactional. In the same vein, give with a sincere heart, trusting that you will be blessed both here and hereafter

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly ask for Your guidance to offer You my heartfelt thanksgiving and praise consistently, recognizing Your goodness and mercy in my life. May my gratitude be genuine and overflowing, and may I never approach my giving to You as a mere transaction, but as an act of sincere devotion and love. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
