Numbers 7:11 NLT
“The Lord said to Moses, “Let one leader bring his gift each day for the dedication of the altar.”
A one-on-one encounter
Nothing catches God by surprise. Yet, when a man performs the unthinkable solely for His glory, he opens the door to a personal, intimate relationship with the King of glory. This principle is illustrated in the referenced scripture, where the Lord commanded Moses: “Let one leader bring his gift each day for the dedication of the altar,” in response to the actions of the tribal leaders of Israel. Although what they brought collectively was accepted, it did not facilitate a one-on-one with God; rather, it was their sincere, personal dedication gifts that sparked a direct, personal encounter with the Mighty One of Israel.
It is instructive to note that Moses did not coerce or persuade the tribal leaders to offer these gifts. Similarly, the King of Glory did not pressure these leaders to donate for the Tabernacle’s dedication. Instead, they voluntarily brought their gifts out of genuine devotion and reverence. Their self-motivated offerings were honoured, leading to a profound reward—a one-on-one encounter with the One enthroned among the Cherubim, signifying divine approval and a deepened relationship.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, may every action I undertake—whether in prayer, work, or daily interactions—be done for Your glory, always guiding me closer to Your divine presence and grace. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
