“They must not leave any of the lamb until the next morning, and they must not break any of its bones. They must follow all the normal regulations concerning the Passover.”
Follow all the normal regulations
When Moses interceded for those who couldn’t partake in the Passover because they had touched a dead body but still longed to celebrate, the I AM WHO I AM responded graciously, instructing them to wait a month before observing the Passover. When the time came, they were to follow the same sacred instructions as those who celebrated at the original time—an act of divine mercy, a lifeline offering them a second chance. Note that the Lord said they were to follow the same instructions, meaning the choice to accept and adhere to divine guidance was solely theirs, as no one was asked to oversee their compliance. Scripture labels these instructions as “normal regulations,” emphasizing that deviations—no matter how harmless—are not just unconventional but unacceptable for receiving the Lord’s blessing. Friends, the responsibility lies with you: do not add to the gifts Jesus gave us through His commandments. To do so is to diminish His love and the victory of salvation won on the Cross. Remember, just as the lamb’s bones must not be broken, do not allow unforgiveness, hatred, or vice to crush your spirit.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me not to engage in abnormal practices to impress You for the mercy You have graciously given to me. Please help me, through the Holy Spirit, not to crush my spirit with any vices. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
