Numbers 9:11 NLT
“They must offer the Passover sacrifice one month later, at twilight on the fourteenth day of the second month. They must eat the Passover lamb at that time with bitter salad greens and bread made without yeast.”
God’s love and mercy
God never forbids anyone from acting in accordance with His will. Had it been otherwise, He would have explicitly stated that men who became ceremonially unclean must wait until the next year before participating in the Passover. Because those men made a request, God responded affirmatively. The Lord declared that their Passover should be observed on the fourteenth day of the following month, explicitly allowing for an adjustment in timing. Beyond the one-month delay, the conditions for their observance remained identical to those for those observing on the original schedule. This demonstrates that God did not hold them to be scapegoats or undeserving. With this instruction, the responsibility was placed on the affected individuals to prepare thoroughly and ensure nothing would cause them to become ceremonially unclean. Friends, our God offers multiple opportunities for redemption and obedience, but we must not squander these chances through complacency or indifference.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to steer clear of any distractions or temptations that could undermine or diminish the grace and blessings You have faithfully bestowed upon me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
