“So Moses told the people to celebrate the Passover in the wilderness of Sinai as twilight fell on the fourteenth day of the month. And they celebrated the festival there, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.”
Just as the Lord had commanded Moses
Did you know that obedience involves not only hearing but also actively doing? In the referenced scripture, we learn that Moses instructed the people to celebrate the Passover in the wilderness of Sinai. This indicates that they listened to his command, but their response went beyond mere listening. The scripture states they celebrated the festival there, specifically in the wilderness of Sinai, demonstrating their action following the instruction. Friends, listening to divine instruction is valuable, but truly demonstrating love for the Giver of life requires action. An important point is that the celebration of the Passover was not based on Moses’s personal wishes but was carried out solely according to the Lord’s direct command to Moses. It’s crucial to note that these instructions for observing the Passover were given specifically to Moses and not to Aaron, his sons, or the Levites, even if they heard them. Only Moses received and conveyed these divine directives. Friends, always ensure that your actions align precisely with what the Lord desires; otherwise, one’s efforts may not receive the desired commendation. In a nutshell, don’t act outside of what the Lord has commanded.

Heavenly Father, I humbly ask for the strength to listen attentively to Your guidance, to discern Your voice amidst life’s distractions, and to work diligently toward fulfilling what You require of me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
