Numbers 9:6 NLT
“But some of the men had been ceremonially defiled by touching a dead body, so they could not celebrate the Passover that day. They came to Moses and Aaron that day”

Please don’t spoil it for others
Every celebration held in the presence of the Lord must give honour to His name. In other words, rejoicing in His presence does not mean that we should abandon decorum or reverence. The referenced scripture describes how some men were ceremonially unclean on the day of the Passover due to contact with a dead body. Because of their uncleanness, they excused themselves from participating in the Passover observance. The actions of these men serve as a meaningful example; had they ignored their ceremonial uncleanness and still participated, it could have led to God’s rejection of the entire celebration. By choosing to abstain, these men showed their love for God and respect for the Israelite community, prioritizing spiritual cleanliness over festive participation. Additionally, these men approached Moses and Aaron quickly and without hesitation. Moses and Aaron’s accessibility and willingness to listen imply they were approachable leaders. The men’s decision to seek their guidance suggests they knew they would not be judged for their situation, emphasizing the importance of compassion and understanding within the community.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray for unwavering steadfastness in my devotion to You and for selflessness in my daily actions, so that I may embody Your love. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
