Numbers 8:4 NLT
“The entire lampstand, from its base to its decorative blossoms, was made of beaten gold. It was built according to the exact design the Lord had shown Moses.”
Exact design
In the referenced scripture, we read that nothing on the entire lampstand was made of any metal or mixture of metals but only of beaten gold. Friends, the use of the most precious metal in the making of the lampstand could imply that there was no room for insincerity in God’s presence. Another lesson is that the entire lampstand “was built according to the exact design the Lord had shown Moses.” We know that Moses didn’t build the lampstand or its base; Bezalel and Oholiab did, and they performed their tasks diligently and exactly the way God had shown Moses. In other words, they neither added to nor subtracted from what they were instructed to do, and months after they had built the lampstand, the quality and exactness of what they built aligned with God’s specifications. As God’s children, how diligent or detailed are we in carrying out His instructions?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to diligently and precisely carry out all Your commands, paying close attention to every detail to ensure I follow Your will accurately. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
