Numbers 7:62 NLT
“He also brought a gold container weighing four ounces, which was filled with incense.”
Not in a rush to report
There is one notable action that Moses took concerning Abidan: he was not in a rush to report his offering. Moses carefully examined the items that Abidan brought, conducting a thorough inspection similar to the meticulous scrutiny he had applied to offerings from previous tribal leaders. He did not merely assume the container was made of gold; rather, his judgment was based on a detailed and careful examination. Likewise, he did not presume what was inside the gold container; instead, he confidently asserted that it was filled with incense, a conclusion he could only reach by opening it and inspecting its contents. One can only imagine how pleased Moses must have been upon discovering that Abidan was truthful and honest about what he had brought. Friend, the onus is on you and me to be truthful and honest in all our dealings.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, You desire truthfulness and integrity deep within my heart and soul. Please help me to remain honest and sincere in all my thoughts, words, and actions as I walk faithfully with You each day. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
