“His offering consisted of a silver platter weighing 3-1/4 pounds and a silver basin weighing 1-3/4 pounds (as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel). These were both filled with grain offerings of choice flour moistened with olive oil.”

History reveals that it was not uncommon for the bride’s family to meticulously count and verify the engagement items brought by the groom’s family. Although the referenced scripture was not specifically about traditional engagement customs, it illustrates that Moses carefully inspected the items presented by Abidan to the Lord, including the silver basin and platter and the grain offerings of fine flour moistened with olive oil. Had Abidan, the son of Gideoni, failed to provide quality in these offerings—perhaps with flawed silverware or inferior grain Moses would have reported it, ensuring standards were upheld. Friends, if God reviewed your actions, would they make Him proud to see His son or daughter living with integrity and excellence?

Heavenly Father, may my actions—whether in everyday tasks, moments of kindness, or acts of service—consistently bring glory to You and reflect Your love and righteousness. Amen.
