For a peace offering
The English language reveals a subtle but important distinction: using the indefinite article ‘ a ‘ to describe an object doesn’t carry the same weight as the definite article ‘the’ when qualifying the same noun. In the scripture referenced, Moses notes that “For a peace offering he brought two bulls, five rams, five male goats, and five one-year-old male lambs.” The fact that these animals were designated for “a peace offering” suggests that the sacrifice wouldn’t be “the one and only” of that kind that Eliasaph would perform. If Eliasaph seeks true peace with God, a single peace offering wouldn’t be enough; he would need to keep making offerings as often as necessary to sustain that peace. But thanks to Christ’s shed blood, we don’t just have a peace offering — we have the ultimate peace offering, the only one that truly counts. His sacrifice was, and remains, the once-and-for-all atonement—an “at-one-ment’—reconciling you and me with God forever and establishing lasting peace.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the everlasting peace with You made possible through Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension. Please help me never to take it lightly. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
