Numbers 7:27 NLT
“He brought a young bull, a ram, and a one-year-old male lamb for a burnt offering,
Total surrender to God
The referenced scripture indicates that Eliab, son of Helon, also brought items for burnt offerings during a specific act of worship. The question arises whether he needed to do the same, considering that Nahshon and Nethanel had previously offered similar sacrifices. It is important to clarify that Nahshon and Nethanel’s offerings were not insufficient; rather, these acts symbolize their individual complete surrender and total devotion to God. Eliab’s act, by doing the same, demonstrated his unwavering commitment and personal dedication to God.
Friends, have you fully surrendered yourselves to God, or are there areas in your life where you believe God cannot or should not govern? Just as Eliab, son of Helon, chose to express his surrender through tangible acts of worship rather than relying solely on the offerings of Nahshon and Nethanel, you too are called to surrender every aspect of your life to Him daily. This reaffirms your devotion, trust in His guidance, and acknowledgment of His sovereignty over all.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly come to You, not relying on the strength of those before me, but trusting in the finished work of Salvation purchased with the blood of the Only Begotten Son to show my devotion to You. Please guide me to remain steadfast and unwavering in my commitment to You at all times. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
