Numbers 7:26 NLT
“He also brought a gold container weighing four ounces, which was filled with incense.”
Purity and abundance
In the referenced scripture, we read that Eliab brought a gold container filled with incense. The fact that Moses emphasized both the container’s high quality and the generous quantity of incense therein suggests that both purity and abundance were significant. Friends, outward radiance should be complemented by an inward state filled with the fruit of the Spirit, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Another lesson detail is that Eliab didn’t merely sprinkle incense into the gold container; instead, he filled it with the specific type of incense that met the divine requirement, otherwise Moses wouldn’t have accepted it. In other words, Eliab presented the incense that aligned with divine standards, ensuring the priests’ service was acceptable to God. So, I ask you: Are your actions and offerings helping others establish a good relationship with God, or are they causing others to incur His wrath?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to always honour. Eliab brought a gold container weighing four ounces, filled with incense that met the divine requirement. Please help not to give anything outside of Your expectations. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
