Numbers 7:19 NLT
“His offering consisted of a silver platter weighing 3-1/4 pounds and a silver basin weighing 1-3/4 pounds (as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel). These were both filled with grain offerings of choice flour moistened with olive oil.”
No comparative analysis
In the referenced scripture, Moses’s name was not explicitly mentioned, yet his presence was undeniably evident. It was he who carefully examined Nethanel’s offering, and he did so without making any comparisons to what Nahshon brought. He did not say that Nethanel’s offering resembled someone else’s; instead, he reviewed it on its own merits. The lesson here is that whatever you present or offer will be scrutinized by divine standards. Therefore, how will you feel when the Holy Spirit reviews your actions and endeavours—evaluating your sincerity, humility, and faith? In Nethanel’s case, the scripture did not indicate that he felt ashamed during or after the review, because he maintained a righteous and upright attitude in his giving to God, with a pure heart and genuine devotion. Friends, strive to be upright in your conduct so that you will have no reason to worry should your deeds be examined—since a clear conscience fears no accusation.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, just as Moses didn’t compare offerings, I ask for Your help to adopt the same humble attitude. Please fill my heart with the Holy Spirit, so that my behaviour always reflects the standards You desire. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
