Numbers 7:14 NLT
“He also brought a gold container weighing four ounces, which was filled with incense.”

He also brought
Nahshon was exemplary in the gifts presented to the King of kings. In addition to a grain offering, today’s scriptural verse reveals that he also brought another gift – a gold container filled with incense. Putting the incense in a gold container was not accidental but intentional, which portrayed his reverence for God and respect for the sanctity of the altar. Nahshon understood that the altar of incense, also called the golden altar, was a highly revered, consecrated space, and he didn’t associate anything of lesser value with it.

The incense offered was the type that God desired. It was made from pure and meticulously prepared ingredients, as prescribed in the holy scriptures. Note that if Nahshon were dubious and had filled the gold container with an inferior kind of incense, his action would have been regarded as dishonesty. Friends, whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. We must avoid all forms of dubious acts before God because He loves prayers and offerings offered with sincerity of heart and honour.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to approach my offering for You with reverence, sincerity, generosity, and utmost respect, ensuring that my heart is genuinely grateful and my intentions are pure. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
