Numbers 7:9 NLT
“But he gave none of the wagons or oxen to the Kohathite division, since they were required to carry the sacred objects of the Tabernacle on their shoulders.”
Required to carry
In serving in the Lord’s vineyard, one thing is certain: the I AM WHO I AM always provides clear guidance on how each task should be carried out. When it comes to the sacred objects of the Tabernacle, the Lord explicitly commanded that the Kohathite division carry them on their shoulders at all times—regardless of whether wagons or oxen are available. This divine instruction was given long before Israel’s tribal leaders brought their offerings and gifts to the Lord.
While the allure of valuable gifts might have tempted others to stray from these instructions, Moses stood firm, unwavering in his commitment to God’s command. Moreover, the Kohathite division did not protest or attempt to override Moses’s authority. They accepted the Lord’s directives as final and honoured them without question. Friends, whatever the Lord calls you to carry on your shoulders, do so with faithfulness. Resist the temptation to seek easier ways, like wagons or oxen. If your strength is insufficient, ask Him to bolster you—and He will surely provide it.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to stand firm in my convictions by adhering strictly to Your divine instructions. Grant me the strength to resist any temptation to conform to societal pressures or practices that You do not authorize, and guide me to remain faithful to Your will in all aspects of my life. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
