Numbers 7:5 NLT
“Receive their gifts, and use these oxen and wagons for transporting the Tabernacle. Distribute them among the Levites according to the work they have to do.”
Distribute them
Every follower of Christ bears responsibilities to perform tasks for His glory. One such is ensuring fairness in the discharge of our duties. In the final verse of the referenced passage, we read that God entrusted Moses with distributing the gifts willingly brought by the tribal leaders to him at the front of the Tabernacle to the Levites. Note that no Levites mounted any pressure or had a representative speaking on their behalf before the Lord remembered them. Friends, God’s goodness includes, but is not limited to, remembering you and bestowing benefits you are unaware of.
Additionally, Moses was instructed to base the distribution of the gift on the assignments given, emphasizing a functionally appropriate allocation that reflected the varying roles among the Levites. By adhering strictly to God’s instruction to distribute the gifts according to the work assigned, Moses fulfilled his divine obligation, which in turn saved him from condemnation, ensuring that the distribution met God’s standards of justice and order and helped maintain the sanctity and proper functioning of the Tabernacle service.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, without Your help, I cannot do anything, let alone please You. Please help me avoid relying on my own methods and always turn to Yours. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
