Numbers 7:1 NLT
“On the day Moses set up the Tabernacle, he anointed it and set it apart as holy. He also anointed and set apart all its furnishings and the altar with its utensils.”

On the day
When a behaviour is common, people tend to overlook it; when it is extraordinary, it frequently attracts attention and can serve as a guiding example for others. In the referenced scripture, we read that Moses performed significant work on the day he set up the Tabernacle, which was a central place of worship and sacrifice for the Israelites. The Bible notes that after he had set up the structure, Moses continued to undertake additional tasks—this highlights that his work was not merely about the physical construction but also about sanctification and dedication. Setting up the Tabernacle was likely a complex, physically demanding process that required meticulous effort and energy.

Despite this, Moses did not consider the day complete; instead, he anointed the Tabernacle with sacred oil, consecrating it as a holy space dedicated to God. This action underscored that establishing the structure alone was insufficient; it needed to be sanctified through specific rituals to attain its divine purpose. Moses’s dedication demonstrates his unwavering commitment to ensuring the Tabernacle was not only physically built but spiritually prepared to be the dwelling place of God’s presence. He exemplified proactive faith, taking additional steps without delay because he could not wait for God’s presence to manifest among them. Friends, do not delay in surrendering your life to Christ, so that God’s presence can begin to dwell within you and transform your life.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me always to follow Your will faithfully, even when it is difficult or unpopular, and to remain steadfast in my commitment to Your divine guidance. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
