“at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. Be sure to follow all my decrees and regulations concerning this celebration.”
At the prescribed time
Have you ever been in a situation where you desperately wanted everyone to agree on the timing of an event, but no one could reach a consensus? It’s a common challenge because finding a time that fits everyone’s schedule is nearly impossible. In the referenced scripture, however, the timing of the celebration wasn’t left to anyone—God Himself set it. As a result, everyone, especially Moses, is free of any accusation of fixing a time that might be inconvenient for others. God provided the exact time, day, and month for the celebration to begin. Remarkably, everyone—whether priest, Levite, or community member—must follow this divine schedule because the Lord commands that obeying His decrees and regulations regarding the celebration is nonnegotiable. In essence, the Israelites could not celebrate the Passover whenever they wished; they were required to follow God’s precise instructions fully and faithfully.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to diligently and faithfully carry out Your specific instructions at the exact designated times. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
