Strong Tower: A Daily Scripture Reflection

Numbers 8:22 NLT
“After that the Levites went into the Tabernacle to perform their duties, assisting Aaron and his sons. So they carried out all the commands that the Lord gave Moses concerning the Levites.”
Reputation for unwavering steadfastness
There is a widely held belief that every gathering or endeavour must have an outlier or a dissenting individual, leading to the idea of a Judas among every twelve people. However, this is not always the case, as not everyone will inherently oppose or act against what is right. If it were always true, the scripture referenced would have reported an imperfect record of compliance among the Levites. Instead, the scripture states that all the Levites faithfully carried out every command the Lord gave to Moses concerning them. Friends, the perfect record of compliance that the Levites had didn’t happen because God forced them. Instead, it was because each of the Levites chose to comply. We as followers of Christ can change the narrative about the inevitability of an outlier in every gathering if you and I make the deliberate effort to do God’s will.
Also, the Levites didn’t compete with or attempt to overshadow the priests because the scripture says they focused on tasks that concerned them. It is worth noting that the Levites’ attitude did not change simply because they gained access to the Tabernacle; their obedience to Moses’ divine instructions remained steadfast even after receiving this privilege. They did not develop a sense of superiority or arrogance upon being granted permission to perform duties in the Tabernacle. Instead, they maintained humility and continued to serve with reverence and obedience.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to avoid engaging in any actions or endeavours that could negatively impact the record of steadfastness and fidelity maintained by my group, church, or family in Your vineyard. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
