Numbers 7:53 NLT
“For a peace offering he brought two bulls, five rams, five male goats, and five one-year-old male lambs. This was the offering brought by Elishama son of Ammihud.”

No wastefulness
Many individuals go beyond the minimum effort, not only working to achieve valued goals but also striving to sustain them over time. For instance, every tribal leader of Israel, including Elishama, offered more animals than the required minimum for a peace offering. This was not wastefulness but a reflection of the deep respect and reverence they held for the sacrifice, underscoring its importance. As outlined in Leviticus 3, these animals needed to be domesticated members of a herd or flock, and by offering them, Elishama’s overall stock of these animals would have diminished. Nonetheless, he chose to give them freely, valuing his relationship with God more than material possessions. Friend, what matters most to you in your relationship with Jesus Christ?

Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to cherish the peace I have in the Only Begotten Son, not take it for granted, and rely on the Holy Spirit to do so. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
