Numbers 6:22 NLT
“Tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing:”
Know Your Responsibility
The first thing to recognize is that Moses had a close and thriving relationship with God, demonstrated by the constant guidance and instructions he received from the Lord on behalf of the people of Israel, including Aaron and his sons, who served as high priests.
Another important lesson to learn from this scripture is that God trusted Moses to deliver His messages not only to Aaron, his biological brother, but also to Aaron’s sons, his nephews by blood. Friends, make yourselves available for divine errands, both for young and old. It’s important to understand that just because God did not instruct Moses to pronounce the special blessings upon the Israelites does not mean He rejected Moses or his authority.
Beloved, when the Lord does not assign you a specific task, do not try to force it. Instead, trust that the Lord will guide the person He has chosen to carry out His instructions faithfully. Also, note that God never indicated that Moses could step in for Aaron or his sons at any point, and there is no record in Scripture of Moses doing so. Therefore, operate strictly within the boundaries and divine assignments set by God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I ask for the strength to serve both the young and old with humility, welcoming people from every walk of life with intention and respect, all to honour Your name! In Jesus’s name, Amen.
