Numbers 5:4 NLT
“So the Israelites did as the Lord had commanded Moses and removed such people from the camp.”
The Israelites did as the Lord commanded Moses
The concept of Six Sigma in operations management teaches that producers should aim for only 3.4 defects per million opportunities, suggesting that absolute perfection in production is unattainable. However, it is essential to note that none of the Israelites defied the divine instructions given by Moses; they united to do what was right. Beloved, since the Israelites harmoniously attended to the Lord’s instruction, we can’t do less. The truth is, nothing is stopping us from coming together to glorify the Lord through our actions.
The scripture did not categorize the people by their tribes or families but presented them as a single entity. This was because the mindset to fulfill God’s will permeated all clans. Additionally, the Israelites’ unity in following the Lord’s commands was not a random occurrence; it was likely the outcome of Moses’s diligent, unflinching attendance to God’s work as required.
Just as Moses’s actions likely contributed to the Israelites’ obedience, your actions as a leader in your home, community, and even fellowship are undoubtedly impacting others positively. As the scripture says, we are the epistle by others (2 Corinthians 3:2). So, what kind of message are you writing with your life? Are they messages that draw people to God and encourage obedience to His instructions, or are they pushing them away?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I earnestly seek to lead my life in a way that brings joy and honour to You. Please grant me the strength and wisdom to align my actions with Your teachings. Help me to be a shining example of obedience and faithfulness, inspiring others around me to embrace the path of righteousness and support them in their own journeys toward Your light. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
