Numbers 5:10 NLT
“Each priest may keep all the sacred donations that he receives.”

The pathway to spiritual rewards
One significant message conveyed in the aforementioned scripture is that God does not prohibit giving to the priest; in fact, He actively endorses it as a means of supporting those who serve in spiritual leadership. However, it’s essential to recognize that the scripture does not imply that such donations will automatically trigger any special blessings or anointing from the priest to the giver. This distinction is crucial, as many may wish for their generosity to bestow upon them the same or some spiritual gifts as the priest possesses, but the Bible does not make this connection.

The truth is, while financial contributions or gifts to a priest can certainly be acts of goodwill and support, they do not serve as a conduit through which one can tap into the priest’s anointing. Instead, the scriptures emphasize the importance of recognizing and receiving a prophet—that is, acknowledging an individual as one who speaks on God’s behalf. According to Matthew 10:41, when a person receives a prophet as a prophet, they can share in the same rewards that are bestowed upon the prophet. This suggests that the spiritual connection and benefits lie in accepting God’s message (Luke 10:16). Thus, the pathway to spiritual rewards is rooted in faith and acknowledgment rather than transactional giving.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly seek Your grace and empowerment to give from the depths of my heart, without any hidden motives or expectations in return. I desire to share my resources, time, and love freely and joyfully, always aiming to reflect Your glory and light in the world. May my acts of kindness and generosity be a true testament to my faith and a means to uplift others in Your name. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
