Strong Tower: A daily scripture reflection.

Numbers 4:47-48 NLT
“All the men between thirty and fifty years of age who were eligible for service in the Tabernacle and for its transportation numbered 8,580.”
Burnout is avoidable
Whenever God calls someone, He provides clear instructions regarding their responsibilities. This is exactly what He did for the 8,580 Levites from the Kohathite, Gershonite, and Merarite clans, aged 30 to 50. Their primary task was to dismantle and reassemble the Tabernacle and its sacred objects. Beloved, do you know what your calling entails?
The specific guidance God provided for transporting these items reflects His loving nature. For instance, the men from the Merarite clan, aged 30 to 50, were assigned the responsibility of transporting the Tabernacle’s frames, crossbars, posts, bases, and the components of the outer court. These items were notably heavy; however, God did not require them to use carrying poles or to place the items on their shoulders.
In contrast, the Kohathites were required to carry the Ark of the Covenant, the Table of Showbread, the Lampstand, the Altars, and the sacred utensils on their shoulders using poles because, among other reasons, they weren’t heavy. This distinction highlights God’s nature as the burden-lifter. As stated in Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Our Lord and Saviour has always been in the business of lifting burdens. He doesn’t burden anyone. Therefore, beloved, do not take on burdens that God has already removed from your shoulders.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, just as the Levites followed Your instructions for transporting the Tabernacle and its sacred objects without burning out, please help me adhere to Your instructions so that I do not experience burnout. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
