“The manna came down on the camp with the dew during the night.”
Breakfast in bed
People often regard breakfast in bed as a modern convenience, but the idea of food being ready at daybreak appears much earlier in the biblical account of God’s provision for Israel. According to the referenced scripture, manna appeared around the Israelite camp with the dew during the night. When the people woke in the morning, their daily food was already waiting for them. The Lord also provided for the foreign rabble travelling with them, ensuring they, too, were cared for. What a merciful God! The account also shows that the manna fell around the camp rather than far away, so the people did not have to travel to gather it. Friends, the Lord’s blessings do not demean those who receive them.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Your blessings bring dignity and grace to the recipient’s life. Please help me recognize them, receive them with gratitude, and always remain thankful. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
