Numbers 10:26-27 NLT
“They were joined by the troops of the tribe of Asher, led by Pagiel son of Ocran, and the troops of the tribe of Naphtali, led by Ahira son of Enan.”
Despite uncertainty and risk
No one wants to be vulnerable, and people often go to great lengths to avoid it. Yet the scripture referenced here says that troops from the tribes of Asher and Naphtali joined those from Dan, even though standing alongside them may have involved uncertainty and risk. By joining Dan, these troops showed they revered the Lord who made this arrangement and honoured Moses, whom God used to deliver the message. They didn’t spin the arrangement to make Moses look like a bad person whose aim was to annihilate them or make their lives miserable. Instead, we read that they joined their brothers and shared the burden. Friends, when challenges are immense, do you stay and support others despite uncertainty and risk, or do you seek out groups where there is no responsibility to shoulder and no uncertainty to face?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me accept Your plan for my life, even when I don’t understand it. Remind me that You are good and loving, and give me peace and trust as I follow Your guidance. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
