Strong Tower: A Daily Scripture Reflection

Numbers 10:18 NLT
“Reuben’s troops went next, marching behind their banner. Their leader was Elizur son of Shedeur.”
Reuben’s troops went next
According to the order of birth, Reuben was Jacob’s firstborn son and would ordinarily have held the position of preeminence and leadership traditionally associated with the firstborn. However, when God established the order in which the tribes of Israel would march through the wilderness, Reuben’s camp was not assigned the leading position. Yet, when it was their turn to set out, the Reubenites neither rebelled nor complained that they had been deprived of the place traditionally belonging to the firstborn. Instead, they willingly moved forward as instructed, following their designated banner and marching under their appointed leader. Friend, be content with whatever role God has assigned to you, and never allow the enemy to persuade you to disregard or look down on the position God has given you.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the role and responsibilities You have entrusted to me, and for the purpose and opportunities to serve that come with them. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
